FIESTAS ARACELITANAS

Se celebran en honor de la Patrona María Santísima de Araceli y constituyen la cima de las celebraciones festivas lucentinas. Las fiestas aracelitanas se inician el penúltimo domingo de abril, en que se celebra la romería de bajada de la Virgen desde su Santuario.




PENÚLTIMO DOMINGO DE ABRIL: ROMERÍA DE BAJADA DE MARÍA SANTÍSIMA DE ARACELI DESDE SU SANTUARIO HASTA SAN MATEO.

A las doce horas de la mañana se celebra una misa de romeros en el Santuario. Al finalizar se expone la Virgen en sus andas para que puedan contemplarla cuantos romeros asciendan hasta la cumbre. Tras una jornada de convivencia en los alrededores, a las tres se inicia la procesión de Bajada. A la salida de la Virgen se disparan salvas en su honor.

Este día la Santísima Virgen luce su atuendo de pastora y las andas de la Virgen son portadas por sus veintidós santeros, que lentamente la llevarán sobre sus hombros por la carretera de la Sierra de Aras, cumbre privilegiada para observar el Campo Andaluz, del que la Señora es Patrona. En el cruce de caminos los santeros la devolverán al pueblo, y en animada procesión, se irán turnando los aracelitanos hasta llegar al lugar de la Primera Cruz, donde de nuevo la toma la cuadrilla. Allí se reza una salve y se canta el Himno a Ella dedicado. El pueblo volverá a ser el portador del preciado tesoro hasta la llegada a Lucena. Una vez allí, con gran alborozo, la recibe el Ayuntamiento, el Clero, y la Corte de Aracelitanas.

A las nueve en punto, la Virgen quedará en la parroquia de San Mateo, para allí recibir diariamente la multitudinaria visita de los lucentinos y aracelitanos. Y dónde se presentan las damas que son recibidas por las del año anterior.


VIERNES ANTERIOR AL PRIMER DOMINGO DE MAYO: PROCLAMACIÓN DE LA ARACELIANA MAYOR Y SU CORTE DE HONOR. PREGÓN DE LAS FIESTAS.

La proclamación de la Aracelitana Mayor tiene lugar en el Salón de Plenos del Excmo. Ayuntamiento. Hasta allí llegarán las jóvenes, lujosamente vestidas, para la imposición de una banda y el nombramiento como tales, acompañados por distinguidos caballeros. La reina de las Fiestas Aracelitanas o Aracelitana Mayor irá acompañada por el Alcalde.




El cortejo partirá precedido de la banda de música hasta San Mateo, en cuyo presbiterio se llevará a cabo el Pregón de las Fiestas Aracelitanas. Dicho acto consiste en la exaltación de la Virgen de Araceli, y sirve de pórtico a las Fiestas. El pregón se inició en 1948, año de la Coronación, en forma de Juegos Florales. Dicho año estuvo a cargo de don Luis Morales Oliver. En 1949 se llevó a cabo un homenaje aracelitano a cargo de don José María Pemán Pemartín. Desde 1958 se ha llevado a cabo ininterrumpidamente.

VÍSPERAS DEL PRIMER DOMINGO DE MAYO: OFRENDA DE FLORES A MARÍA SANTÍSIMA DE ARACELI.


Se desarrolla durante la tarde del sábado de Fiestas Aracelitanas. La comitiva, formada por numerosísimas entidades, cofradías, peñas, y devotos a título individual, desfila por la calle del Peso desde el Paseo de Rojas. En este acto también participan todas las Autoridades, Real Archicofradía, así como las cuadrillas de santeros de la Virgen. El pasacalle está amenizado por cinco bandas de música, prácticamente todas las de la comarca. La enorme cantidad de flores recibidas se va colocando a las plantas de la Virgen en el Presbiterio. Allí las recibe la Corte de Aracelitanas.


PRIMER DOMINGO DE MAYO: SOLEMNE FUNCIÓN RELIGIOSA EN HONOR DE MARÍA SANTÍSIMA DE ARACELI. SOLEMNÍSIMA PROFESIÓN.


Se lleva a cabo en la mañana del Día de la Virgen. Suele presidirla el Excmo. Señor Obispo de la Diócesis o el Capellán de la Obra Pía. En esta multitudinaria celebración religiosa se proclama la Palabra de Dios con la habitual intervención de la Coral Lucentina. Aquí suele interpretar la Misa del Campo Andaluz, original del Maestro Antonio Villa Álvarez de Sotomayor. A esta solemnidad acude el Excmo Ayuntamiento y Autoridades, la Real Archicofradía de María Santísima y Cofradías Filiales, la Obra Pía, y la Corte de Aracelitanas.

Solemnísima Procesión de Nuestra Excelsa Patrona, María Santísima de Araceli La procesión se inicia a las ocho de la tarde, hora en que el trono de Nuestra Señora, llevado por treinta y seis santeros, traspasa el umbral de San Mateo. La procesión es el momento álgido de las Fiestas Aracelitanas. Se desarrolla por el itinerario de costumbre. A las once y media de la noche, la Bendita Patrona de Lucena llega a la Plaza Nueva, momento en que realiza su triunfal entrada a la Parroquia, bajo una extraordinaria función de fuegos artificiales, música, cohetes y tracas.


LUNES POSTERIOR AL DÍA DE LA VIRGEN (FIESTA LOCAL): INICIO DE LA SOLEMNE NOVENA A MARÍA SANTÍSIMA DE ARACELI.

Durante los próximos nueve días, cada noche se llena el templo de San Mateo para dar gloria a Dios a través de su Bendita Madre de Araceli. Cada día la novena se dedica a algún gremio o entidad de la ciudad. Previamente a la Eucaristía, se reza el Santo Rosario y se expone el Santísimo Sacramento. La novena suele predicarla algún distinguido orador, y todos los día acude la Coral Lucentina. Al finalizar, se canta el Himno dedicado a la Virgen.

SEGUNDO DOMINGO DE MAYO: BESAMANOS A MARÍA SANTÍSIMA DE ARACELI.


A las cuatro de la tarde se inicia el piadoso Besamanos, que con la sola interrupción de la Novena, se prolonga hasta las 12 horas de la noche. Son varios miles los devotos que pasan ante la Sagrada Imagen.

TERCER DOMINGO DE MAYO: ROSARIO DE LA AURORA.

Tiene inicio al alba de este día, desde la ermita de Nuestra Señora de la Aurora. Durante el trayecto, que finaliza en la parroquia, se reza el Santo Rosario, acompañado de las tradicionales coplas de los campanilleros de la Aurora. Al llegar a San Mateo, se celebra la Eucaristía.
Presentación a la Virgen de los niños. En la tarde de este día se presentan a la Virgen todos los niños nacidos entre el mismo acto del año anterior y el presente. Los niños, en brazos de sus padres, pasarán debajo del manto de la Virgen de Araceli.

CUARTO DOMINGO DE MAYO: MISA DE ENFERMOS E IMPEDIDOS

En la tarde de este día se celebra una misa, especialmente dedicada a los enfermos. Hasta Lucena acuden autobuses desde todos los hogares de ancianos de la comarca, y los propios de la ciudad. La misa es cantada por un coro, y tras el acto religioso se celebra una merienda de hermandad.

PRIMER DOMINGO DE JUNIO: SUBIDA DE MARÍA SANTÍSIMA HASTA SU SANTUARIO.

A las siete y treinta horas de la mañana de este día, se realiza la misa de romeros de despedida a la Virgen, que es portada a hombros hasta el Santuario. A la llegada se canta la Salve. Durante el trayecto, ahora en sentido inverso, se producen las mismas circunstancias que en la bajada, aunque en esta romería la Virgen no sube vestida de Pastora.
