La Cueva del Ángel.

El término municipal de Lucena es rico en yacimientos arqueológicos de distintas épocas, desde el Paleolítico y el Neolítico, hasta la época Moderna.

La cueva del ángel es el yacimiento arqueológico más antiguo conocido en Lucena; está situado en la ladera sur de la sierra de Aras. Al parecer se trataba de una cueva, en parte desaparecida, que estuvo habitada por el llamado hombre de Neanderthal hace más de 80 000 años.

Los Neanderthales habitaron la cueva irregularmente hasta que en un momento de su historia, ésta se derrumbó. En su suelo quedaron infinidad de restos de utensilios de piedra con los que fabricaban: bifaces, rascadores, lascas... y gran cantidad de huesos de los animales que habitaban entonces en aquella zona, y que incluían elefantes, rinocerontes, osos, uros, caballos, ciervos...

Al yacimiento puede ir en bicicleta,coche o a pie.

Cave angel is the oldest known archaeological site in Lucena, located in the southern slope of the Sierra de Aras. Apparently it was a cave, partly missing, which was inhabited by the Neanderthals named more than 80 000 years.
